As we enter the summer of 2021 there is some uncertainty about how Rotary continues to offer those human connections Rotary members have valued previously. The mantra "hands meet face to face" will be an important part of the routine, but it's clear that there's a rising faith and desire to connect face-to face. Rotary is evolving. The months that will lead up to summer 2021, there is still uncertainty about how we will provide service to the local community. This includes the valued human connection valued by Rotary previous members. It is clear, however that the hand-to-face ritual remains the norm for Rotary. The reality is that Rotary has changed. Man volunteers clean up trash. The network of Rotary builds lasting relationships outbreak of the pandemic brought us into the world of technology our Rotary world. We've honed our practices maintaining the business meetings online as well as reintroducing the social and service aspects with a secure face-to-face setting. We've embraced the newest possibilities and merged them with our pre-pandemic habits to make an exciting new direction for Rotary! In a recent Rotary survey it was heartening to learn that about 75% of clubs are planning for their business as usual' events" The summer months saw many of our members out and about focussing on initiatives such as cleaning the beach and river, litter cleaning, and our ongoing support to society from Rotary volunteers who volunteer their time for COVID vaccination and test centres. I'm equally pleased of the fact that the Rotary Support Centre team continues to supply valuable information and resources to help spread the word about these projects and ensure that the infrastructure is maintained to keep our members and public secure; compliance and insurance are essential. We are aware that volunteering via the community of Rotary will create lasting bonds based on the shared experience volunteering for the community's benefit. It's thrilling to witness how members of our club are able to come up with creative solutions for some of the most difficult challenges. I am so thankful to be a part of the team. Rotary gave me the chance to join in 2002. Rotary, like so other organizations, has provided me with an extensive network of individuals with the same values as me and from whom I have developed genuine relationships over the past 20 years.
