Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV. Later, she was a the morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD-TV. Her reporting of the ineffective response of the police towards DUI cases in Charleston caused an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in policy from state officials regarding DUI cases.
